10 Last Minute Halloween Costumes

by Kathryn Aurelio ‘25

It’s that time of year we’re trudging up the hill of projects disguised as midterms and trying to maintain that treasured “work-life balance.” The last thing on your mind is what three Halloweekend costumes you’ll need to scrounge together with accessories that may or may not come in time. So, here are some last-minute costumes that you can put together with clothes in your closet.

Barbie

The hottest movie this year and one of the easiest costumes to pull together! Throw on any assortment of pink clothes and accessories, and you’ll be all set to party in the dream house.

Spy

Everyone’s got some black pants and shirt. Just throw on some sunglasses and you’re ready to go undercover!

Clown

All you need is some eyeliner (or even a marker if it’s washable) to draw diamonds around your eyes to get started. Dress yourself in some red, white, or black and get ready for a chaotic college circus weekend.

“Cereal” Killer

Getting your oh-so punny costume at a grocery store? Yes. Get a box of a cereal of your choosing and puncture the box with a plastic knife. Ta-da! You’re a cereal-killer.

Pig in a Blanket

In case you’re not feeling fabulous enough for Barbie, put your pink clothes to use transforming into a pig, and then wrap yourself in a cozy, plush blanket to ward off the chill in the air and become one of the best appetizers to exist.

Harry Potter

Another simple look is Harry Potter off-duty – wear any clothes you’d like and draw a lightning bolt  on your head and pick up a stick on your way to the function to become a wand. You’re a wizard, Harry!

Wednesday

Jenna Ortega’s got nothing on those of us who are going to be decked out in black with two simple braids and black lipstick.

Taylor Swift in “You Belong With Me”

All you need is a white t-shirt, PJ pants, and a multi-color marker pack from Target. Spend 15 minutes re-creating Ms. Swift’s iconic shirt guaranteed to get your next door window neighbor to fall for you.

Joe from “You”

Did someone say eeeeeeaasyyyyy!! Throw on a baseball cap and maybe a “bloody” rock if you got some DIY time.

A M&M

I’m sure you have a solid color shirt, so now all you need is to get some paper from Leavey and cut out an “M” and tape it to your chest!
