Updated Explore LA: Smorgasburg
By: Sophia Pei ‘22
Every Sunday from 10AM to 4PM Smorgasburg LA can be found in the oddly gentrified factory lot located at 777 S Alameda St, Los Angeles, CA 90021. This is the perfect place for foodies to bring their friends to try some of LA’s signature food fusions. Not only is there great food, but it’s also a great place to just canvas shop and enjoy aesthetic lifestyle stands (after all, admission is free!). Looking for fun weekend plans? Keep reading!

Spooky season is officially here and whether you like it or not, it’s that time of the year where part of the fun is being scared. Arts District/Little Tokyo Vlog
By: Awo Jama ‘22
Earlier in the semester, I had the chance to explore both Little Tokyo and Downtown LA’s Arts District with the USC Photo Club on one of their off-campus excursions. After taking the Metro to Little Tokyo as a group, we were each given a map listing several notable sights in the area, and had free reign to explore what peaked our interest the most. Instead of taking stills of the vibrant murals and bustling shops I passed, I opted to film a short vlog which would document my trip:
Opinion: Love LA? Don’t Live in the Lorenzo.
By: Sophia Pei ‘22
With their Bellagio-esque dancing fountain, four pools, gaming room, free shuttle, and other amenities, the Lorenzo is a popular choice for students at USC. Part of the Renaissance collection, the Lorenzo is privately owned by GH Palmer Associates and marketed as luxury student housing. While GH Palmer Associates is creating much needed housing in downtown LA, the Italian façade luxury apartments don’t serve the greater community. The increasing demand for exclusive student housing has decreased the economic incentive for developers to create additional much needed affordable housing units in South LA.

By: Cameryn Baker ‘22
A limited-time addition to an exhibit at the Natural History Museum in LA is “close to home” in two ways: One, it is quite literally five minutes from the USC campus, so you can walk over and see it whenever you want. Two, the exhibit is completely dedicated to remembering the history of Los Angeles, the home city of our school!

5 Local Fitness Studios in LA
By: Samantha Romero ‘16
If you’re looking to de-stress and find your inner balance then this is the studio for you. I love Radha Yoga because it’s proximity to USC and it’s location next to Nature’s Brew, one of my favorite local cafes. The studio is also a place of tranquility with natural lighting from the multiple windows that allows fresh air to breeze on through the studio. It’s a definitely must-try experience even if you are new to yoga…
