Have you ever wondered why people have such a fascination over candles? I mean it’s just a block of wax in a container and costs over $10. And when the wick is short, you throw the whole candle away. Such a simple creation can do so much for your mental and physical health. Here is a list of things that candles do for you:

Tranquility

Candles set an atmosphere that brings peace and tranquility to your mind. For some reason, every time I light a candle, the ambiance of the room changes. I go from feeling anxious, then I light a candle, and my worries drift away over time. In addition, seeing a still candle just calms the mind.

 Nice Scents

Another benefit to candles is the strong scents. While not everyone may be a fan of scented things, those who are probably obsessed with smelling the candles at Bath and Body Works! I’m a fan of fruity scents, so anything that smells sweet works for me! Nice scents also freshen up a room when needed!

Reminds you of specific memories

Some scents can remind you of specific memories. For instance, certain floral scents remind me of my grandma because she had a floral perfume. Either lighting up a candle or smelling a specific scent can stimulate something from the past.

 Improves mood

Also related to scent and memories, candles improve your mood. Candles stimulate the brain and can bring out emotions that lead to a mental boost.

 Cozy Atmosphere

Candles also make a cold environment feel warm. Imagine you’re sitting in your room and outside you see the snow or rain. What other way to warm your room up by lighting a candle and making your room feel cozy and safe?

Lavender Scents Help with Sleep

Lavender as a scent in general helps relieve stress and helps with relaxation. Lavender scents also help with sleep as the scent lowers your blood pressure and heart rate.

Candles are getting popular over time, and they smell wonderful if you like scents! Make sure to blow out the candle before you leave the house though!
