Exploring Free Events at USC

Yes, that’s right! Free! With the costly tuition we are paying, we want to get as much as possible from our experience at USC. One of the neat opportunities USC offers is access to free events to its students, faculty, staff, and alumni. From Robert Downey Jr.’s Q&A panel to the Black Alumni Association Career Chat, there are hundreds of opportunities on campus to hear cool speakers, network with the top companies, get free food, or even watch a movie before it is released to theaters. But with the thousands of organizations and clubs on campus, it can be difficult to hear about these events. Here are ways you, as a USC student, can find and take advantage of the free events of campus.
What To Watch on HBO GO

Fun fact: All USC students are eligible for a free subscription to HBO GO; something I wish I knew before using up three of my emails on free trials. Amidst all the hustle and bustle of finals, a quick movie break could be exactly what you need, and what better way to do so than by using the subscription USC already provides? If you are looking for some justification to stop studying and start watching — I’m giving it to you. If you want some suggestions on what you could be binging as you work your way through finals week, read on!
My Experience in CTWR 431, and Why Everyone Should Take an SCA Class

I would be lying if I said that I didn’t think about USC’s School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) while trying to decide which college to go to. While I am currently an Applied Math major, I’ve always loved movies and TV, and I’ve always dreamed of taking a class from one of the best film schools in the nation. I’ve made a point to take at least one SCA class a year, and I think that you should too!
