LGBTQ+ Undergraduate Student Organizations at USC 2023

One way USC celebrates diversity and fosters inclusivity is through LGBTQ+ student organizations. Each group serves a unique purpose, ranging from advocacy groups to community-building organizations
Here is a brief overview of the largest LGBTQ+ student organizations available to USC undergraduates:
Queer & Ally Student Assembly (QuASA)
Dedicated to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all students, QuASA acts as an umbrella organization for other Queer student groups. They raise awareness by organizing events and workshops to celebrate Queer culture and the USC LGBTQ+ community, such as karaoke nights, succulent and vase painting, and clothes swap initiatives.

Student Assembly for Gender Empowerment (SAGE)
SAGE provides a platform for discussions around gender and sexuality. They empower students through advocacy and education, challenging norms and promoting gender equity with its mission revolving around uplifting voices oppressed by the patriarchy. They host events such as Burlesque workshops to promote self-expression as well as the Eco Period Party to promote sustainable menstrual care. They also organize discussions with speakers on topics of body love and mental health.

Dorothy’s Friends Theatre Company

Dorothy’s Friends, also known as DFTC, is a unique blend of art and advocacy, producing shows that highlight queer narratives and give voice to stories that are often left untold in mainstream media. They are currently holding auditions for a show called Queer Villains Cabaret. They also accept creative pitches for budding writers and creators and host gender affirming clothing events. Last year, DFTC showcased its production of the cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show.
