year, USC hosts career fairs for its students: curated events that bring students and recruiters together for the provision of internship opportunities and even full-time offers. Traditionally, career fairs take place on Trousdale Parkway, the thoroughfare of our University Park Campus. Employers would visit campus during the fair and line up in booths along the parkway that students could visit one after the other. Spread across a number of days, the career fair features days for unique presentations as well as companies geared towards specific audiences: such as Departmental Career Fairs for individual schools or the International Students Career Fair. As an international student myself, the International Students Career Fairs have been so resourceful in providing global opportunities for students from different countries and bringing international students closer to jobs that sponsor certain visa types.

What is Meal Prep? Meal prep is when you plan your meals and snacks for the week ahead of time, preparing your meals early on, and portioning them out for convenient meals-to-go throughout the week. Why should you try meal prepping? Well, meal prepping can help you eat balanced and nutritious meals, and exercise good portion control. You can also save money planning and making your meals ahead of time rather than eating out when you’re too busy to cook, or wasting money on groceries that end up going bad before you remember to use them. Don’t know how to cook? That’s okay! Your meal prep journey can begin with simple beginner recipes, and over time, you can level up your meal prep once you feel more confident in your cooking abilities. If meal prep sounds like something you want to try, then this blog post will help you get started on your meal prep journey.

The past two years in music have been devoid of “the usuals”. Without an album from the bigs like Frank Ocean, Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna, it’s created a hole in the music industry. Fortunately, the next generation of artists and producers stepped up to fill the void, and a majority of them were Black women. If 2019 was the rise of this generation, then 2020 was their crowning coronation. The year’s music scene was undeniably led by bonafide popstars Doja Cat, Meg The Stallion, and Lizzo. This article will continue in the music scene’s efforts to empower Black women in the industry; specifically, we’ll be looking at some of my favorite up and coming artists.

The thought of writing a cover letter can be anxiety-inducing, sometimes to the point where you feel paralyzed to start. As someone who has written and peer-edited countless cover letters and personal statements over the years, I’ve come up with a list of journal exercises I send to friends who feel stuck. Not only will these journal exercises help you organize your thoughts, but they will also help you figure out what you want to include before you start writing. Once you’ve completed these exercises, you will be ready to begin your cover letter!

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who is not currently living their best (covid-free) life in Cali right now. I, similar to most of you, have been at home with my parents ever since quarantine started almost a year ago. It is really challenging sometimes because the only space that feels like mine is my room. But, staying within these 4 walls all day, everyday has made my irritation levels skyrocket and my social battery empty. Internships are commonly viewed as precursors to real-world jobs and great thing to have on your resume exiting college. It lets recruiters know that you have the know-how to apply the knowledge you’ve gained from your classes.
