With COVID-19 interrupting our everyday lives, many students and other part-time workers are being forced out of work with temporary restaurant and store closings. With the move to online classes for a while, you’re probably spending a lot more time on your laptop — those classes that don’t allow laptops can’t say anything now! In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, USC announced that in-person classes are cancelled for the remainder of the semester and students are prohibited from returning to campus after spring break. The academic semester will be completed online in attempt to preserve public safety and prevent the further spread of COVID-19. While the shutting down of several campus facilities was a necessary precaution, USC workers will face serious economic consequences from this decision.

If you’re anything like me, you haven’t been to Tommy’s Place at all since your orientation when they hosted a party the one night you were there. In all honesty, with the introduction of the Village and the sheer fact that we’re in LA with hundreds if not thousands of different clubs and restaurants, Tommy’s Place isn’t usually anyone’s go-to on campus despite its easy access. And I always saw that chalkboard right outside RTCC with all the events at Tommy’s Place for the week and wondered what they were really like since I know no one who chose to go to them. However, this little experiment that was supposed to take me three days has now taken me three weeks, and even at the time of writing this article, it’s still an ongoing challenge. And I need your help. Thus, this is the story of me attempting to Revive Tommy’s Place Trivia.

Shakespeare is simultaneously overrated and underrated. Overrated because he’s Shakespeare. Underrated because there are people who believe the man is boring or underwhelming in his abilities as a writer. But on the contrary, Shakespeare has a little bit for everyone. This past semester, I read a Shakespeare play a week for my Shakespeare class. I thought I would be bored or annoyed, but the opposite happened. I was able to reinvigorate my passion for English and literature. I just wanted to share a little bit of what I enjoyed most last semester, because there’s something for everyone.
