Even though we’re all in college now, studying our lives away and striving for a future where we’re all serious adults, we all wanted to be heroes as little kids. We wanted to go on adventures, slay dragons, and maybe wreak a little havoc on the world. If higher education hasn’t stomped the adventurer’s spirit out of you yet, you’ve probably heard of Dungeons and Dragons, a world-famous tabletop roleplaying game that’s spawned popular web series, podcasts, and memes (yes, I’m one hundred talking about the moral alignment charts on USC’s meme Facebook group). As a result, you probably know what alignment you are. But do you know what class you are? If you’ve ever wondered what kind of hero you’d be in another world, read on as I try to assign every school at USC a D&D class.

The USG election cycle for the 2019–2020 year has officially ended! 4,777 people voted this time around, representing 23.9% of the undergraduate student body. Were you one of them? Although not every student voted, the Senate is meant to represent all students — so getting to know the candidates is probably a good idea. Read more to find out more about each elected senator and what you can expect from them for the next academic year.

Yes, that’s right! Free! With the costly tuition we are paying, we want to get as much as possible from our experience at USC. One of the neat opportunities USC offers is access to free events to its students, faculty, staff, and alumni. From Robert Downey Jr.’s Q&A panel to the Black Alumni Association Career Chat, there are hundreds of opportunities on campus to hear cool speakers, network with the top companies, get free food, or even watch a movie before it is released to theaters. But with the thousands of organizations and clubs on campus, it can be difficult to hear about these events. Here are ways you, as a USC student, can find and take advantage of the free events of campus.

Whether you’re falling in love, want some songs to appreciate your amazing friends, or are moving through a breakup, you can explore the diverse field of music while exploring the depth of your feelings. My first week back at USC, I lost my debit card — which sucked because I had little to no cash on me and didn’t know how I was going to eat between classes. I got through the week by utilizing a variety of different resources at USC and while I didn’t record my experience at the time, I wondered — could I do it again? Finding different places to eat lunch can be difficult, but with effort, it is definitely possible. Between my Monday through Thursday classes, here is what I managed to eat for lunch (for free!) at USC along with a number of other resources I found to help individuals do so!

I spend a lot of time on my phone. Like, probably an unhealthy amount of time on my phone. And while I’m not proud of that fact, in all honesty, my phone has probably been a surprising asset throughout my time in college. Not just with social media, like Snapchat and Spotify, but with other, lesser-known apps that I appreciate having and using in my everyday life. So, to justify the sheer amount of time I spend on my phone, here’s a list of the apps I’ve found most useful during my life in college.

Valentine’s Day has come and gone and here I am again: single. I’m twenty years old, and I’ve been single for twenty consecutive years. Not to sound all cringey Riverdale ~I don’t fit in and I don’t want to fit in~ but I’m one of the only people I know that has never had a serious relationship, nor have I ever kissed somebody. Being in college, where it can often seem like everyone is hooking up with everyone else, being someone who’s inexperienced in dating can make you feel weird. Even broken. But, I’ve been working on myself lately, and in doing that, I’m working on telling myself that I’m not defined by whether I’ve kissed someone or not. It’s always daunting trying to reach out and seek mental health care. Most people have heard some criticism of USC Student Health Center, and that might scare them off from seeking the treatment that they need. However, asking for help shouldn’t be scary, and the process of seeking help should be transparent and known to all. So, if you want to know more about mental health care at USC and what you can do to make your life better, read on!

I had the recent, somewhat horrific discovery that Valentine’s day is currently less than 3 days away, and I have planned almost nothing for this weekend. In that panic, I realized I needed to figure something out and fast. So if you also happen to be in that boat (I super don’t blame you, this year is already flying by), then take the research I’ve already done so you can get all of your planning out of the way super fast.
