For Grads: Using the Career Center for Landing Full-Time Jobs

By: Lauren Brose ‘15

Finding a job nowadays is a full-time job within itself and just because we have USC on our resumes doesn’t mean getting hired is as simple as filling out a job application. As much as I’d love to say all major companies handpick graduates from USC, that simply isn’t true. USC is a great university to learn, grow and emerge into the working world from for a number of reasons; however, getting a high-paying job handed to you as you receive your diploma at graduation is not one of them. There is good reasoning behind why some grads are receiving offers of employment.

5 Easy Steps To A Healthier You

By: Judy Lee ‘17

1. Get sleep done—the right way: despite what everyone says, we all have individual sleep needs. Some of us can survive off 6 hours and feel groggy after 10, and some will be the opposite. Take a week to learn how you fare at different hours and stick to the one that gives you the best rest. Keep in mind that most sleep cycles are completed within 1.5 hours. So, for me, I generally need around 7.5 hours to feel rested…

By: Lauren Brose ‘15

This year, my primary focus is my happiness. The first step to achieving this is by making your needs a top priority. A lot goes into your overall health and wellness and I feel that a blog post dedicated to this topic is long overdue. Everyone said I was crazy for getting a cat and it was totally unexpected of me. I’ve always wanted to have a pet and raise a kitten or puppy at a young age. I considered waiting off until the end of my last semester, but I thought about my upcoming summer. I thought the perfect time to get a pet was when I finish school and have to transition to the rest of my entire life aka the real world. So a week after spring graduation, I got King George.
