By: Kelly Martin ‘17 (Guest Blogger)
It seems that there’s only one accepted to story to tell about college students and mental health. You probably don’t have to think too much to guess the main points. since we hear them repeated again and again here at USC:
How to Fake Your Way Through an SC Fall
By: AnnaLiese Burich ‘17
So. You live in Southern California and want to celebrate fall. Well, in the words of the great Mindy Kaling: first of all, how dare you? That’s right, I said it. Who do you think you are, to want seasons? To want to recapture that childlike wonder of cold noses, hot apple cider, pumpkins, falling leaves, and copious amounts of candy? That sounds like a bummer time to me. No way, Jose. That magical autumnal experience is not for me.
“LGBTQ History Month” Ends, The True History Should Not
By: Paul Samaha ’17
I began this post as I embarked on the annual USC “Weekender”– a weekend-long trip where Trojans travel to the Bay Area for either the Stanford or UC Berkeley football game. This year we play Berkeley, and I’ll be staying in the heart of Downtown San Francisco: a beautiful metropolis in Northern California filled with free spirits and views of the sparkling San Francisco Bay. This same city is also where my past LGBTQ community members shed their blood, sweat, tears and in the worst case, their lives for the sake of basic human rights. Let’s dive in.

Some Things To Know Before You Go
By: Grace Carballo ‘17
I’m writing this post from my bedroom in my homestay in Managua because I have a little free time due to the unfortunate, but undeniable fact that I am too sick to go to class this afternoon.
4 People You Will Run Into At Halloween Parties This Weekend
By: Judy Lee ‘17
Halloween is always a blast–especially in college. Turning up is just different when you have a cool costume on. But sometimes, shit gets weird (or awesome, depending on your tastes). Here are some of the people you’ll be running into this weekend:
Sleeping with Stangers
By: Samantha Romero ‘16
Moments before the The Strokes frontman, Julian Casablancas, exhaled his first lyric at Landmark Music Fest in Washington D.C., I was overwhelmed with excitement and peace of mind. I was seconds away from photographing my music idols. It was quite an adventure getting to this point.
Work On It Wednesday: Making the Time to Exercise
By: Emily Young MA ‘16
This morning I was feeling a little groggy, a combination of staying up too late doing homework and not eating a big enough breakfast. As I walked to volleyball practice alone, I first noticed how few people seemed to be on campus. Then, I noticed how everyone who seemed to cross my path appeared to be dead tired, or just as groggy as I was. It’s midterm season, I get it, but it also got me thinking. Working-out, as much as it may be a struggle sometimes, always makes me feel better.
