Although California is known for its year-round subtropical climate, barely-there winter, and the infamous “May Gray” and “June Gloom,” nothing beats the weather that inhabits the summer months of Los Angeles. There is much to look forward to whether you’re trying to take it easy or dance through the morning. Trust me, LA is filled to the brim with things to do–– I guarantee you’ll never be bored.

The dream prop and Krautrock reminiscent band is comprised of guitarists Anna Arboles and Sapphire Jewel, drummist Jessy Reed, and bassist Rosie Tucker.

Yesterday night in Bovard was the Spring Xpressions show and it lived up to all the hype. Xpressions, founded relatively recently in 2009, is completely student-run, with student choreographers and dancers, and even funded by USG, so y’all keep doing your thing cuz it is working!

A thunderbolt who crashed onto the USC organization scene, Pocket is one of the most driven people I’ve met – with precision and execution to actualize her ambitions. Currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Pocket is also the founder and president of the newest female-oriented organization on campus: SoGal (previously known as GirlsUp). Her favorite snacks include a variety of Asian desserts!

I’m a big believer in this quote because I don’t know if I’ve ever been right about someone based on my first impression of them. And while it is very easy to assume the worst about the person who cuts you off on the highway or the person who honks at you when you don’t turn right away or the person who wrongs you in other frustrating non-driving situations (Can you tell I hate driving?), there is probably a lot more to that person that would justify their actions if only you knew a little bit about their life. Everyone has a story and all you have to do is ask a few questions and listen.

Yes, being on a gluten-free diet can suck at times. I personally was diagnosed with Celiac Disease about four years ago, and haven’t intentionally had gluten since. There are a vast number of reasons why some people don’t eat gluten (Celiac Disease, allergy, intolerance, preference, etc). But the good news is that being gluten-free at USC is not only possible, but it’s actually quite simple. I know that there will be a good amount of incoming freshmen in the fall that had the same questions I had when I entered USC… “what are my gluten-free food options on campus?” Well, thankfully, there are a lot of convenient options for us glutinos at ‘SC; no one even realizes my diet is different from theirs. To help you find your meals on campus, I have sufficiently compiled this guide for you!

Unsurprisingly, USC has been making a few minute modifications on and off campus. If you haven’t noticed already, the only Wendy’s for miles has been torn down alongside a movie theatre that nobody ever frequented, the highly controversial Superior Supermarket, and Health Hut— a sandwich and fruit smoothie bar that I honestly have nothing negative to say about because the workers were as sweet as the fresh smoothies that’d quench my thirst every Wednesday after French. It’s save to assume I wasn’t the biggest fan of the gaping hole of dusty revulsion that is better known as “University Village.”

Probably the most valuable lesson I’ve learned in college is that there is a whole lot in this big, beautiful world of ours that I know very little about. I won’t ever know everything, but I plan on learning more and more, even after graduating from USC in May 2017, which is approaching way too quickly. To facilitate this, I’ve started checking out my options because honestly the dream is to continue going to school as long as possible.
