Whenever I think about my life and where I am, I just feel so incredibly lucky. I am at the University of Southern California, I have a roof over my head, I’m listening to “How Deep is Your Love?” on a laptop computer. I have the opportunity to do some many things that a lot of people don’t have the chance to do. I am at THE BEST UNIVERSITY IN THE WORLD AND I AM DAMN PROUD OF THAT.

While I am no longer living in USC housing, throughout my freshman year, I enjoyed living in New Residential College. While it was not a 5-star hotel by far, as a college student, living on-campus was extremely opportune. Also not everyone can have the best roommate ever, but hopefully everyone gets at least half that lucky. Get ready for nostalgia about freshman year and look at why USC housing is so convenient.

Midterms are some of the most dreaded times of the year for most students. During this time, you’re probably spending most of your time last-minute cramming before the exam or essay is due, and there’s even more stress added, if you have a part-time, full-time job, club meetings, internships and other activities.

One of the best decisions I made my freshman year was joining a club whose message I agree with wholeheartedly. For me, Dance Marathon was the best decision for me because I love working with children and dancing around for extended periods of time.

Not only can you go shopping somewhere other than the pop-up places on Trousdale, you are also pretty popular with your friends if they ever need a ride to the airport.

USC is amazing but at some points during the year, I need to get away. Living on campus can sometimes be overwhelming. Luckily, we live in one of the most diverse cities in the world and there are many things to do within a few miles of campus. So get out and explore!

Attention USC students: There are other libraries on campus other than Leavey. While it is the only 24 hour library, when not cramming at 2am, there are multiple others options for undergraduate and graduate students.

Helllllo Kelly here! Okay, so I’ve been searching for a decent college tip list and, truthfully, they all kind of suck. There is a range of opinions and judgmental comments based on a person’s actions so let me put this disclaimer first and forefront.

One of the coolest things about going to USC is all of the awesome perks they have for their students, even in the summer! My favorite summer perk is the free movie screenings that the USC School of Cinematic Arts hosts throughout the year.

I never ever wanted to join a sorority. In fact, growing up, my family often made fun of the concepts of Greek life and sororities. So when choosing a college, I specifically looked into schools that socially were not centered around Greek life because I was so certain it was something I would never have wanted to be part of. When I finally chose USC, what I was most worried about was the vast Greek scene.

I love giving back to the community. It is a quality that was instilled in me by my parents at a young age, and something that I always feel the need to do no matter where I am in the world. While game days are fun, and free movie nights are clutch, some of the most meaningful experiences that I’ve had at USC involve giving back to the community.
