How To Dining Hall
By: Natalia Wurst ‘21
Even though dining hall food is currently the most unappreciated aspect of my college experience, I know it will quickly turn into the metaphorical “one that got away” the minute I have to cook anything more complicated than pasta. Multiple sources have confirmed this fact. That being said, if you’re a freshman, or even a sophomore/junior/(senior?) with a meal plan, it’s perfectly valid to be sick of months or even years of the same old, same old. No one is denying that this a first world problem, but the struggle is a struggle nonetheless.
What if I don’t get into USC?
By: Jamie Wu ‘18
“USC is my dream school and I’ve wanted to go there ever since I was 5.” I’ve heard this from lots of perspective students and sadly, some of those students don’t get into USC. So what do you do when you’ve put in so much effort in your college applications but it didn’t turn out the way you want? How can you reconcile the fact that you’ve spent countless hours on your common app with the fact that you’ve been rejected from your dream school? I know it’s hard but it’s not the end of the world and I hope these 5 reminders will give you some solace.
Where to Find Free Events @ USC
By: Natalia Wurst ‘21
If you’re anything like me and spent the summer before freshman year researching every possible way to mooch off our school, you probably don’t need this list. But for the rest of you sane people, who still want alternative (FREE) ways to spend your weekend besides watching Netflix, here is where to find them:

There are many ways students can get involved on campus, but have you heard of Motivate & Empower (M&E)? If you want to gain a sense of social responsiveness, inspire change, and help to empower local communities, this group is for you.
Kitwana - How Black Greek Life was Reborn at USC
By: Joy Ofodu ‘18
Kitwana is a Swahili word, meaning that one vows ‘to live.’ This is what Junior USC student Marcus Burke, an Animation and Digital Arts Major, roared into the cold air Wednesday as he ascended the steps of PED. He and senior Marquis Morris (USC Sociology major and All-American Track athlete) had just officially joined one of the most esteemed fraternities in the National Pan-Hellenic Council: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

As we are going through Conquest week, and approaching our season ending (of course, with the exclusion of Pac-12/Bowl Game), I have been reflecting on my time here as a part of the TMB and will, in this article, tell you about my game days as a TMB member.

Break Out of the USC Bubble— LA Service Opportunities
By: Danielle Collins ‘20
I’m sure you’ve heard someone say it before: we live in the USC bubble. Whether we like to admit it or not, there’s some truth behind that statement. I totally get it— USC is a great place and I want to spend as much time soaking it up in the 4 years I’m here as I can. But you can still soak up USC’s awesome-ness even once the bubble is popped. One of the best ways to break out of the USC bubble is getting involved with service opportunities in the LA area. And, trust me, there are a lot of them. Not only will you become more aware of the community we live in outside of USC’s campus, but you’ll be helping others and have some great experiences to grow along the way.
Places to Go That Aren’t the Row
By: Joy Ofodu ‘18
I remember dressing up in wacky costumes every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night as a freshman (yup, throwing it back to Fall 2014, folks) jumping from house to house, looking for adventure and hiding from trouble. 28th Street and I were new to each other then: I graciously tied hair, passed out water bottles and ushered giggling floormates away from the ragers, the comforting blue glow of DPS Emergency light-posts guiding us home. Over the next three semesters, visits to The Row came fewer and farther between. I found community, meaningful (audible) conversation and good vibes in so many other places on and off campus that I didn’t need to lean on The Row anymore. As a Sober Trojan and non-Greek, we simply grew apart. If you or someone you know is looking to get away from 28th Street, I have a few ideas.
A Weekend of Feminism with Amber Rose and USC Dornsife Center for Feminist Research
By: Ellice Ellis ‘18
Amber Rose rose to fame as Kanye West’s girlfriend in 2008, but just shy of 10 years later, she is now known for her efforts in the world of feminism. This past weekend in Los Angeles, men, and women who identify as feminists came together for Rose’s inaugural OPENed Women’s Conference and the Amber Rose SlutWalk. The weekend kicked off with Saturday’s OPENed conference, hosted by the Amber Rose Foundation and the USC Dornsife Center for Feminist Research in Ronald Tutor Campus Center.

We all want to get out of here with our limbs intact. That was an odd way to start, but you know what I mean. Leaving Troy can be intense and stressful, but these hacks may help you manage the madness:
Arts, Identity & Activism ft. Riz Ahmed & Heems
By: Ayman Siraj ‘18
USC Speakers Committee, USC Service Student Assembly, and Desis That Politic hosted an important talk on activism through art and mental health with Riz Ahmed and Heems of Swet Shop Boys on Monday, April 17th. I figure T360 readers would prefer videos as introductions instead of long Wikipedia like life histories so here they are:
